The world never ceases to come up with outlandish ideas, and many of the most extreme ones often originate from the United States. This time, it comes from the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., who is making a major investment in what is being dubbed the “Doping Olympics.”
Donald Trump Jr. is backing and investing in the “Enhanced Games,” a competition that allows unrestricted use of performance-enhancing drugs.
The goal of the event is to push the absolute limits of human performance through the use of doping.
“This is about innovation and American dominance in the world—something the MAGA movement embraces,” Trump Jr. declared.
Three years before the United States is set to host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Trump Jr. is championing an alternative competition.
Nicknamed the “Olympics on Steroids,” the Enhanced Games openly encourage the use of performance-enhancing substances, claiming they will set new records in athletics, swimming, and strength sports.
“For over 100 years, the elite controlling international sports have stifled innovation, crushed individual greatness, and denied athletes the chance to test the limits of human potential. That ends now,” Trump Jr. stated.
Trump Jr. Seeks Major Funding
Leading the investment fund 1789 Capital, Trump Jr. is working to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to finance the Enhanced Games, according to The Financial Times.
“The Enhanced Games represent the future—true competition, true freedom, and real records being shattered,” Trump Jr. said.
Athletes React: “Completely Insane”
Trump Jr.’s involvement has sparked strong reactions from the global sports community.
“This is completely insane. It seems like he has lost it entirely, at least from an athletic perspective,” said biathlete Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen to NRK.
The athletes fear that removing doping restrictions could lead to severe health consequences—or even fatalities.

Event Promoters Defend “Scientific Super Athletes”
On its website, the Enhanced Games claims that all competitors will undergo extensive medical evaluations before participating to ensure their safety.
However, critics remain unconvinced.
Trump Jr. is not the only high-profile investor in the project. Billionaire Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and early Facebook investor, has also contributed, along with several other wealthy backers.
The Enhanced Games were first announced in the summer of 2023 by founder Aron D’Souza, who promotes the event as a groundbreaking advancement in sports.
“We are building something revolutionary—sports without hypocrisy, where the best can truly be the best,” D’Souza said.
The event is offering a $1 million prize to the first athlete to break world records in the 100-meter sprint or 50-meter freestyle swimming.
So far, only one athlete, former Australian swimmer James Magnussen, has publicly expressed interest in participating.
Some fear that the event could produce unnatural, almost superhuman athletes.
However, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has previously condemned the Enhanced Games, calling it dangerous and irresponsible.
