Wraith comes from the USA and plays old-school thrash metal. The band has been active since 2016 and has released three albums previously. I awarded their last album, “Undo the Chains,” five out of six points in Scream Magazine, and the band has not deteriorated since 2021. Therefore, it scores high again. “Absolute Power” from 2019, “Heed the Warning” from 2018, and not least, the self-titled EP from 2017 are all great releases that are worth checking out.
The band continues to deliver cheeky riffs and devil-may-care aggression. This type of thrash metal makes you thirsty just by listening to it, reminiscent of bands like Hellripper and Toxic Holocaust. It absolutely works, and “Fueled By Fear” is a thoroughly good album. The only critique is that the vocals have a bit too much reverb; they would likely sound better a bit drier. However, it’s a minor thing to complain about—because Wraith delivers once again. Fans of thrash metal who prefer a raw style that focuses on riffs over melodies should definitely check out “Fueled By Fear.” This sounds brutally cool.
