Soulline hails from Switzerland and offers melodic death metal with traces of alternative metal akin to Godsmack. The band occasionally shines with some powerful riffs and vocals, but then brings it down again with unremarkable melodies and a clean vocal style that is whiny and dull. It’s like being at a party where the atmosphere is getting better, and suddenly a negative party pooper shows up and ruins the good vibe. It’s a shame because there’s a lot of potential here, and the mixing by Peter Tägtgren has also yielded results. But as a whole, this ends up being mediocre.
