Death metal band Sarkasm started way back in 1990 in Canada. They released four demos until 1994, and then the band disbanded. At irregular intervals, the band has reunited for a few concerts. However, this time, the reunion has led to the band finally releasing their debut album. Not bad – just thirty-three years after the band was formed! Sarkasm doesn’t sound too shabby, though. Here, we are served heavy death thrash that packs a punch. “As Empires Decay” may not be the ultimate experience – the songs are not strong enough. But there are some riffs that hit the mark. Some of what the band presents here can actually remind you a bit of Bolt Thrower. Even though there’s something strange about all these bands that couldn’t get anywhere many decades ago now starting to move, it’s probably just to congratulate Sarkasm on finally releasing their debut after so many years.
