The American thrash metal band Hatriot is here with their fourth album since their inception in 2010. The band has its roots in American thrash metal – literally – since two of the band’s members are sons of vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza from Exodus. Hatriot doesn’t sound too dissimilar from Exodus either – but is perhaps a notch more aggressive and draws more from death metal. In fact, certain songs on “The Vale of Shadows” may remind you of Swedish melodic thrash and death metal bands like At the Gates and Arch Enemy. Hatriot has something going for them, and the band’s new album sounds massive and well-crafted. Thrash metal fans should check out “The Vale of Shadows”. It’s almost strange that the band isn’t more well-known considering how good this sounds.
Released July 22nd, 2022 on Massacre Records.
