Faithxtractor is the brainchild of American musician Ash Thomas. Currently, his only bandmate is Bolivian bassist Zdenka Prado, but otherwise, Ash handles all the instruments himself. Faithxtractor has now released five full-length albums of classic death metal, and Loathing and the Noose is undoubtedly a record I would classify as high-quality death metal. It sounds heavy, is solidly executed, and boasts a well-crafted production.
The only downside to Loathing and the Noose is that so many bands sound similar. Because of this, I don’t find myself overly excited, even though the album is excellent. However, if you’re a fan of classic death metal, Faithxtractor is definitely a band worth checking out. There’s plenty of great sound to be found on Loathing and the Noose.
