From Slovenia, we have the thrash metal band Eruption. The band has previously released three albums, a live album, and some demos. The band’s thrash is heavily diluted with heavy metal, making their style interesting. I particularly enjoy the guitar work on “Tellurian Rupture”, and the album features some intense solos. However, the band is at its best when they blend in heavy metal elements. I especially like the song “Praise the Serpent Queen,” which reminds me of Sanctuary. In fact, there are several other songs on the album that remind me of the aforementioned band. Vocalist Klemen “Buco” Kalin sings like a hero, which adds to the appeal. So, for anyone missing Warrel Dane and what he was doing when he was alive, checking out Eruption is a smart move. It also doesn’t become too similar because Eruption leans more towards the thrash metal genre, unlike Sanctuary, which played heavy metal. It took a bit of time to get into “Tellurian Rupture,” but once it clicked, it was worth it.
