The British tabloid Daily Star has published a caricatured cover depicting Donald Trump as “Putin’s Poodle” following his recent claim that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy provoked Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The new cover, released on February 19, highlights Trump’s attempt to distort facts by blaming Zelenskyy with baseless accusations while failing to acknowledge Vladimir Putin’s responsibility for the aggression.
“Donald Trump shocked the world by claiming that Ukraine started the war with Russia,” the newspaper emphasized.
The cover also references Trump’s controversial remarks, in which he suggested that Zelenskyy “should not have started the war” and that the conflict could have been “easily resolved” through a negotiated deal.
Meanwhile, Trump has also warned that World War III “is not far away”, though he insists it would not happen under his leadership. He pointed to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, claiming that his presidency would prevent the world from plunging into a global war.
