Obnoxious Youth is a Swedish-Finnish speed hardcore metal band that is now releasing its third album. Their previous album came out in 2017, but they also released an EP in 2020. Calling themselves Obnoxious Youth has its consequences, because now that the band members are around 40 years old, some of the “Youth” seems to be fading. However, since the band members go by the names Shit, Cult, Spine, Zeke, and Phantasma, we can at least assume they’re still Obnoxious. At least they’ve managed to get rid of Fuck and Semen since the last time. But the music is pretty cool. Obnoxious Youth definitely has a unique sound. I’m not a huge fan of the vocals, though; they remind me more of hardcore punk. The vocal is screeching and very raw, but it has its own charm. The band is better at riffs, and they also have some good melodies. I especially like the ending with “Omega Therion.” It gives me vibes of classic horror movie music.
