This is the second album from the German band Deadborn, and the style leans towards the more brutal side of death metal. In terms of technical skill, there’s absolutely nothing to fault here. On the contrary, it’s impressively well-played and quite technical too. What’s less enjoyable is that despite the various technical flourishes, the album also feels very monotonous and lacks variation in its length, and I find myself getting bored as the record progresses. This is largely due to the fact that the vocals remain largely the same throughout. It never becomes bad, but it just feels a bit mediocre as there are so many other bands in the same genre with more distinctiveness.
