Axetasy is a relatively new band that has previously only released a handful of singles. Now, they are debuting with their album Withering Tides. The young Germans deliver a mix of heavy metal and speed metal, charging forward at a blistering pace. These guys clearly know their way around their instruments, with one solo seamlessly following another. However, despite their instrumental skills, I find the actual songs lacking. They feel poorly structured and almost chaotic. The production is also well below par. That said, Axetasy shows great potential, and with more focus on songwriting and stronger production, they could really stand out. Unfortunately, Withering Tides ends up being a rather mediocre album.
Released January 17th, 2025, on Dying Victims Productions.
